Сетевое ежеквартальное издание «Музыкальное искусство Евразии. Традиции и современность» учреждено по инициативе Московской государственной консерватории имени  П.И. Чайковского, совместно с Уральской государственной консерваторией имени М.П. Мусоргского и Казанской государственной консерваторией имени Н.Г. Жиганова, в сентябре 2020 и выходит в свет с октября 2020 года.

Тематика издания включает различные аспекты музыкальной культуры народов, населяющих Евразию, с точки зрения специфики этнических музыкальных традиций и их взаимодействий. Естественно, что данная тематическая направленность привлекла широкий круг партнеров издания как в России, так и за ее пределами.

Проблематика научных статей и рецензий, публикуемых в журнале, охватывает области исследования, относящиеся к специальностям 17.00.02 – «Музыкальное искусство», 17.00.09 – «Теория и история искусства», 24.00.01 «Теория и история культуры» (музыкальная проблематика).
